Inside and outside
Lies a gate in between
Which I have the keys to
Yet I don’t
This is a gate that was
not meant to be opened
Not without an invitation
Inside,
she stares out of the
window with a poignant smile
Outside,
I wait for the key
that was once mine

I love the feeling of separation in this poem..there’s a quiet despair that is deeply felt. Oh and by the way, if you are looking to generate views, make use of the tags. 🙂 E.g. poem, poetry, literature etc
